Born and raised in
Queens, New York City, Cree Elizabeth Cicchino—who now works
mononymously as Cree—initially developed her passion for performing
through dance. Beginning at the age of four, she trained heavily in
hip hop and jazz funk styles before expanding her artistic focus to
include performance on screen. Her mother enrolled her in sketch
comedy and acting classes at around age 12, a decision that rapidly
shifted her trajectory toward a professional acting career.
Within months of starting her formal training, she secured a major
television breakthrough at age 13 when she was cast as Babe Carano in
the Nickelodeon comedy series Game Shakers. Playing a tech-savvy
student who builds a multi-million-dollar gaming empire, she relocated
to Los Angeles with her family for the production. The role spanned
three seasons and a crossover episode with Henry Danger, earning her
multiple Imagen Award nominations for Best Young Actor.
Following her breakout success, she effectively transitioned into
diverse adult roles on major television and streaming networks. She
starred as Marisol Fuentes in the Netflix comedy series Mr. Iglesias,
appeared in the film The Sleepover, and took on recurring roles in And
Just Like That... and Big Sky. She later won an Imagen Award for her
performance as Daisy in the adaptation Turtles All the Way Down,
followed by a starring role in the acclaimed independent feature
Twinless and the network series Best Medicine. |
