Sabrina Annlynn
Carpenter is an American singer, songwriter, and actress who first
discovered her passion for performing by posting YouTube vocal covers
as a child. Raised in Pennsylvania, she placed third in a high-profile
singing contest run by Miley Cyrus's official website, which catalyzed
her early entertainment career. She soon secured her first
professional acting role with a guest appearance on the television
drama Law & Order: Special Victims Unit before relocating to Los
Angeles to expand her opportunities.
She achieved widespread recognition as a teenager when she landed the
co-starring role of Maya Hart in the Disney Channel comedy series Girl
Meets World. Alongside her television success, Carpenter initiated her
professional music career by signing with Hollywood Records, where she
released a series of pop studio albums. As she transitioned into
adulthood, she pivoted toward more mature, complex projects, earning
critical praise for her film roles in the acclaimed drama The Hate U
Give and the independent comedy Emergency, while also making her
Broadway debut as Cady Heron in Mean Girls.
Her career reached unprecedented heights upon signing with Island
Records, establishing her as a global pop icon. Her chart-topping
albums Short n' Sweet and Man's Best Friend produced a consecutive
string of historic, record-breaking hit singles including "Espresso",
"Please Please Please", and "Manchild". Leveraging her immense musical
success, Carpenter continues to expand her multi-disciplinary artistic
career by transitioning into executive production, securing a deal to
co-produce and star in an upcoming studio musical adaptation of Alice
in Wonderland. |
