Alexandra Anna Daddario
is an American actress who was raised in an upper-middle-class family
of lawyers in New York City. Developing a passion for storytelling at
an early age, she decided to pursue a performance career when she was
eleven years old. To accommodate her artistic ambitions, she
transferred to the Professional Children's School as a teenager and
later attended Marymount Manhattan College before leaving her studies
to focus entirely on professional screen acting.
Daddario secured her television debut at age sixteen, portraying the
character Laurie Lewis in the long-running daytime soap opera All My
Children. Her major Hollywood breakthrough arrived in 2010 when she
was cast as the demigod Annabeth Chase in the fantasy adventure
blockbuster Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief, a role
she later reprised in its 2013 sequel. She expanded her prominence in
the industry with a memorable, high-visibility role in the first
season of HBO’s critically acclaimed anthology drama True Detective
and went on to star in mainstream cinematic hits like San Andreas and
Baywatch.
Her career has continued to evolve through prestigious television
projects and independent cinema. She earned a Primetime Emmy Award
nomination for her performance as Rachel Patton in the hit HBO limited
series The White Lotus and secured the leading role of Dr. Rowan
Fielding in the AMC supernatural horror series Mayfair Witches.
Balancing her television roles with film, Daddario starred as Debs in
the comedy-drama feature Couples Weekend and remains a sought-after
talent across psychological thrillers, streaming dramas, and major
