Eliza Dushku is a former American
actress and producer who built a dynamic career portraying fiercely independent,
complex characters. Raised in Watertown, Massachusetts, she was discovered by
casting agents at age ten. Her early breakthrough came in high-profile feature
films, notably starring alongside Robert De Niro and Leonardo DiCaprio in This
Boy's Life and playing the rebellious teenage daughter of Arnold Schwarzenegger
and Jamie Lee Curtis in the action blockbuster True Lies.
She achieved widespread recognition in the late 1990s with her career-defining
television role as Faith Lehane on the hit supernatural drama Buffy the Vampire
Slayer and its spin-off Angel. Her portrayal of the troubled antihero slayer
turned a brief guest arc into a massive fan favourite. Capitalizing on this
momentum, Dushku successfully transitioned into leading film roles, starring in
the cult cheerleading comedy Bring It On and the horror movie Wrong Turn.
Dushku later headlined major network television series, including Fox's
supernatural drama Tru Calling and the science-fiction thriller Dollhouse, where
she also served as a producer. Over the course of her career, she lent her voice
to major animated projects and video games. After stepping away from the screen,
she channelled her passion into mental health, earning a master's degree and
establishing a second career as a trauma therapist. |
