Thomasin Harcourt McKenzie is a celebrated New Zealand actress born into a prominent entertainment family in Wellington, consisting of her actress and acting coach mother, Miranda Harcourt, and director father, Stuart McKenzie. She is also the granddaughter of actress Dame Kate Harcourt. Growing up surrounded by the industry, she attended Samuel Marsden Collegiate School in her hometown before establishing her own path in international cinema.

McKenzie experienced her major international career breakthrough starring alongside Ben Foster in Debra Granik’s critically acclaimed 2018 drama film Leave No Trace, a performance that earned her widespread recognition and a Critics' Choice Award nomination. Following this breakout role, she quickly built a diverse filmography with high-profile supporting and lead parts across various genres, including Taika Waititi’s World War II satire Jojo Rabbit, David Michôd's historical drama The King, M. Night Shyamalan's thriller Old, and Jane Campion's psychological western The Power of the Dog.

Cementing her status as a versatile leading lady, McKenzie delivered a striking performance as Eloise in Edgar Wright's psychological horror film Last Night in Soho.
