Dakota Blue Richards is an English actress who first gained prominence as a prominent young talent in the British entertainment industry. Born in London, her passion for performing developed during her primary school years through local dance classes and school productions. Her path to professional acting began when she attended open auditions for a major Hollywood fantasy adaptation. Out of ten thousand hopeful candidates, she successfully secured the coveted lead role of Lyra Belacqua in the 2007 feature film The Golden Compass.

Her standout cinematic debut, which saw her share the screen with established stars Nicole Kidman and Daniel Craig, launched a successful multi-decade career across film, television, and theatre. Shortly after her breakout, she headlined the fantasy-adventure film The Secret of Moonacre and starred in the television drama Dustbin Baby.
