BIOGRAPHY

Willow Shields is an American actress who rose to international prominence as a young talent in the film industry. Raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico alongside her two siblings, who also pursued acting, she discovered her passion for performing early on. Her career began with a voice narrative role in a 2008 short film, which quickly led to a guest appearance on the television drama series In Plain Sight and a supporting role as a homeless child in the 2011 television film Beyond the Blackboard.

Her major breakthrough arrived in April 2011 when she was cast as Primrose Everdeen in The Hunger Games, the highly anticipated film adaptation of Suzanne Collins' bestselling novel. Portraying the younger sister of the franchise's protagonist, Shields became a central emotional anchor of the global box-office phenomenon. She successfully reprised her notable role across all four instalments of the sci-fi dystopian adventure series, earning widespread recognition and ensemble nominations for both a Young Hollywood Award and an MTV Movie Award.

Following the conclusion of the blockbuster franchise, Shields transitioned into more diverse and mature projects across film and television. In 2015, she became the youngest competitor in the history of the reality competition series Dancing with the Stars. She subsequently headlined the international fantasy co-production Into the Rainbow, starred in the drama film Woodstock or Bust, and portrayed Serena Baker in the Netflix figure skating drama series Spinning Out, effectively expanding her artistic portfolio beyond her early signature role.
